The Sabaki Go Club is pleased to announce the 2009 Sabaki Open Go Championship hosted by the Sabaki Go Club! Players from across the province and elsewhere are invited to the city of Edmonton on October the 24th and 25th. Fantastic prizes are planned for all divisions! In addition to the opportunity to play, learn, and compete, go players around the province will share experiences, meet old friends, and make new ones.

From 20 kyu to 6 dan, there will be something for everyone. Don't miss it!

• Time: Doors open at 8.30am
• Location: Edmonton Japanese Community Centre, 6750-88 Street, Edmonton, AB
• Registration Fee: $20 (Adults), $15 (Youths - Under 12 and Seniors - Above 65)

Events:

• Double Elimination Format
  (Japanese Rules, 45 mins/player, Byo Yomi: 25 Stones in 10 min, 6.5 points Komi)
  • Divisions:
    A - 4 Dan and up
    B - 1 to 3 Dan
    C - 5 Kyu to 1 Kyu
    D - 12 Kyu to 6 Kyu
    (Divisions are subject to change depending on registration)

  Teams consist of a stronger player paired with a weaker player
  (Japanese Rules, 45 mins/team, Byo Yomi: 25 Stones in 10 min, 6.5 points Komi)
  

Banquet: A Chinese style 8-10 course banquet is held on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. for
$25.00 per person (includes tax). Location to be announced.

Billets: Limited billets available for Friday and Sat. nights on a first come, first served
basis. Players needing a billet must confirm registration early.
