• By joining the CGA you are supporting the growth of organized Go in Canada. The CGA is a volunteer organization that needs your support. It receives no government funding.
• The CGA supports clubs through grants to purchase equipment.
• The CGA provides some funding for prizes in the national tournament.
• The CGA maintains a national on-line database of members and their ranks.
• The CGA coordinates professional teaching delegations from China or Japan to attend national Go events. and also coordinates the awarding of free special prizes to Canadian youth qualifiers, pairs qualifiers and Canadian national champion to participate in world amateur events overseas annually.,
• You will receive a CGA ID number and an official rank that is in a National database. Your club or any athorized person may submit games that continually update your rank.
• You can receive official dan diplomas from the CGA.
• You will be recorded on the official rating lists published by the CGA.
• You will receive information by email on important events before posted on any website.
• You will be eligible to win entry to international events such as World Amateur Championships, World Youth Chanpionship and World Pairs Championships if you qualify.
• It is easy with VISA. You will receive a confirmation of your transaction on line.
• You may pay in advance for 2 or 3 years say and avoid future cost increases.
