Regular informal games "just for fun" are the heart of any Go club. The personal objectives of the players will vary somewhat. Some come just to play and relax. These players are not too interested in reviewing games. Others come to get stronger. They want to review games. They want more serious games. The key to a successful club is to strike a balance.

To do this we try to record all game results on a weekly game sheet. These games are entered into the rating system and a weekly report is published showing updated ranks. This is important for the serious players who need to track their progress and be recognized when reach new heights. Ideally the rating system provides this. On the right is a sample game sheet for recording. The CGA in cooperation with Sabaki Go Club hosts an on-line game processing and player registration system.
